Georgie Parker was born on
At the age of 13 Georgie was diagnosed with scoliosis (curvature of the spine). She then had to wear a shoulder-to-hip brace, that she nicknamed Boris, to stabalise the condition. “I was 13 when my mother was rubbing sunscreen into my back and told me to sit up straight – and I was,” Georgie said.* “Suddenly I faced one of those moments when you’re told at 13 that something is going to change your life. But I never saw it as ‘woe is me.’ I treated it as an adventure. And I didn’t make a big deal of it.”* (*Source: “Georgie’s Lifetime Triumph,” Woman’s Day,
Georgie got her big break in the form of drama series A Country Practice, for which she won four TV Week Logie Awards.
Following ACP, Georgie tried her hand in theatre, starring in Crazy for You and Nunsense.
In 1998, Georgie returned to TV medical drama in All Saints, for which she has won three more ‘Most Popular’ Logie Awards for – so far. She has also been nominated for a Most Outstanding Actress Logie, which is voted for by industry experts. Her role in All Saints has proved time and time again her popularity with the viewers – not only through her awards, but when John Howard’s rude character Frank Campion used the ‘f’ word in an argument with Georgie’s character Terri Sullivan, the Seven Network received many complaints though the show had the appropriate rating and was on at the appropriate time for the language used. “The issue seems to be that you don’t say ‘f---’ to their golden girl,” a network spokesperson said of those who complained.**
“[It’s a good response because it’s not about the shock words] – we’ve sworn on the show before – but because people clearly feel really protective of Terri.” Georgie said of the issue.**

“We thought we’d get that kind of reaction – and we did,” said John Howard.*** (***Source – “Mr. Nasty’s no saint,” Woman’s Day,
In 2004, Georgie hosted the June/July run of National Geographic Presents, and later that year, she took a break from All Saints to star in the theatre show Scenes from A Separation with Sydney Theatre Company.
Georgie has also recently released a collection of sleepwear that she designed and hopes to branch out into childrens’ clothing.
In her personal life, Georgie is married to scriptwriter Steve Worland and the couple have a young daughter named Holly.
In 2005, Georgie's fans were sad to farewell her from "All Saints." Georgie felt that it was time to move on. She also wanted to spend more time with her family. But having said that, she is hosting Seven's reality/documentary series about the Alfred Hospital, Medical Emergency, is appearing in Chapter Two with Sydney's Ensemble Theatre, and has a role in the film Irresistible with Susan Sarandon.
